We believe financial decisions are driven by both head (knowledge) and heart (values) — lasting change requires both.

Our Story

$192,000 in Debt.
Zero in 7 Years.

Marray and TK Harris didn't start from a place of financial confidence. Early in their marriage, they were staring down $192,000 in student loan debt — on top of a mortgage and car payments. It felt impossible.

But over 7 years, grounded in faith, discipline, and a God-honoring plan, they paid off every dollar. The student loans. The cars. The house. All while giving generously and building a life they were proud of.

That journey is the reason Heart & Wallet Institute exists — because they know firsthand that financial transformation is possible for anyone willing to get aligned.

The Framework

Which Builder Are You?

Jesus' parable of the wise and foolish builders teaches us that how we build matters as much as what we build. Where does your financial foundation stand today?

🏚️

The Shortsighted Steward

Building on Sand
Most Common Starting Point

Focused entirely on today, this steward reacts to financial needs as they arise — no plan, no reserve, no vision. Life feels like a constant scramble with no way forward.

  • Spending outpaces income consistently
  • No emergency fund in place
  • Debt is the default response to any crisis
  • Tomorrow feels too far away to plan for

The Wavering Steward

Building in Wood
Progress, Not Yet Consistent

This steward knows better and is trying — but consistency is the challenge. Good intentions get disrupted by life, and the plan never quite holds when storms come.

  • Starts budgets but rarely finishes them
  • Saves when motivated, stops when stressed
  • Wants to invest but isn't sure where to start
  • Still vulnerable to financial disruption

Marray Harris is a financial educator, biblical stewardship speaker, and investment professional with Primerica, based in Jackson, Mississippi. His passion for financial stewardship was forged in the crucible of real-life debt — $192,000 worth — and the discipline it took to eliminate it. Today he channels that experience into workshops, speaking engagements, and one-on-one coaching that equips individuals and church communities to manage God's resources faithfully. Marray believes financial education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of income or background.
